Invitations:
Order Bob The Builder invitations or make road sign invitations. Cut out a square, octogon, diamond shape, etc, draw the sign of the front and the party info on the back.

Decorations:
Use orange road cones to lead up to your front door.

Make road and construction signs to put up around the party area. Attach some to dowels and insert into the ground for an outdoor party. Make a "Hard Hat Area" sign.

Use yellow "caution" tape in place of streamer. Or use yellow and orange streamers and balloons.

Use Bob the Builder partyware or use solid colored partyware in your party colors.

Use paint pans (new, clean ones) to serve sandwiches, and chips in. You can also turn a construction hat upside down and use as a chip bowl.

Use a dump truck (new, clean) to put goodies in.

Serve punch or lemonade out of a large thermos.

Use a kids' plastic wheelbarrow to use as an ice chest.

Cake:
2 baked 8- or 9-inch round cakes
2 3-oz. pkgs. prepared chocolate pudding
3 to 4 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
Clean plastic toy dump truck and shovel

Step 1:
Cut the cakes into 3-inch-long slices, then cut them in half.

Step 2:
Layer the cake, pudding and crumbs in the clean dump truck and serve with the shovel.

Food and Snacks:
Prepack lunches into tin or plastic dome top lunch pails or use plain brown paper sacks. Put in a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich, a piece of fruit, a juice box, and a Bob the Builder snack.

For the adults, set out finger sandwiches in the paint tray along with some chips. Set out the large thermos of lemonade.

Put out a fruit tray or a construction helmet filled with apples, oranges, bananas.

Goodie Bags and Prizes:
Use a plastic tool box from the dollar store or a paint bucket ( tin or cardboard from Home Depot) or turn a construction hat upside down and fill with Bob the Builder themed favors, stickers, fruit snack, cookies, or toy construction trucks, a plastic tool set with tool belt (Dollar Tree).

Go to Home Depot and ask for painter's caps or aprons. You may be able to get them for free if you say what you want them for.

For prizes, give out mini Bob the Builder Lego sets, small trucks, construction vehicles.

Games and Activities:
Play Pin the Tail on Pilchard.

Wheel Barrow race. Have two kids race to see who can wheel their barrow of styrofoam bricks to the finish line first and stack them up the quickest.

Make a pyramid of styrofoam bricks and let the kids take turns tyring to knock them down using plastic toy hammers. Whoever knocks down the most wins.

Make a "Digging Zone". Use a sand box or box or container filled with sand. Bury toys and trinkets. Let kids dig for the treats using toy digging trucks.

Toss plastic toy hammers into a pail or bucket. Most in wins.

Since this theme is probably geared more towards the preschool age group, set up some centers where the kids can play.

Set up a center for playing with wooden blocks or Lego building blocks.

For an activity, set out some construction paper and some adhesive back foamies in geometric shapes. Let the kids design houses and buildings with the shapes.
