Those cute little spotted bugs make a great party theme!
Get ladybugs here!

Invitations:
Using black cardstock draw a medium sized circle with a smaller circle on top. Circles should be touching. Cut this out. This will be the ladybug's body. Using red cardstock, cut another medium sized circle. Cut this in half down the center. These will be the wings. Decorate the wings with black spots. Use a brad to attach the wings to the body. Lay the two halves of the circles round side up and tips overlapping. Attach them together and to the center of the bug's body with the brad. Open the bug's wings and write the party info on the bug's body using a white paint pen. Let this dry overnight before you attempt to close the wings.

Decorations:
Blow up some red balloons and draw spots on them to make ladybugs.

Use lady bug partyware fromthe Party Works or use solid red colored partyware.

Use large styrofoam balls. Cut in half. Paint with red acrylic paint. Let dry then use black Scribbles paint to make dots.
Attach two pieces of black pipe cleaner for antennae. Use as a centerpiece. Make several. You can make these all different
sizes depending on the size ball you choose to use.

Use red tin pails and paint on black spots. Use to hold utensils and napkins. Or add an arrangement of flowers.

Decorate with red and black streamers.

Make a ladybug cake. Just bake a round cake (could be two layered). Tint white frosting red with food coloring. Use peppermint patties
for the spots and black licorice for antennae.

Food and Snacks:
Red and black jelly beans.

Red jello.

Oreo cookies.

Red punch.

Make ladybug cookies with a round cookie cutter. Let the kids ice them red and add raisins or black jelly beans for spots. Two pieces of black licorice make antennae.

Goodie Bags and Prizes:
Use red tin or plastic pails. Add ladybug stickers, tatoos, red and black jelly beans, plastic ladybugs, a bug jar with net.

Games and Activities:
Play put the spot on the ladybug.

A ladybug bean bag toss using red socks filled with beans and tied closed with a knot or rubber band. Toss into red pails or a basket.

Have a ladybug hunt. Make small styrofoam ladybugs like above. Hide them around the yard and have the kids hunt for them. The one who finds the most wins.

Make ladybug antennae. Wrap black pipe cleaner around a red headband. Attach two styrofoam balls painted red. You can curl the pipe cleaners around a pencil before attaching to give the bug some curly antennae.

Use the ladybug craft tote kit from OTC as an activity.

Make ladybugs out of cardstock like in the invitations or use styrofoam balls for kids to make their own take home bugs.

Sponge paint ladybugs onto t-shirts you ask the guests to bring or provide the t-shirts yourself.
