These are Mardi Gras cookies. I start with sugar cookie dough and paint them in the yellow, purple, and green colors with Royal icing. When they are dry, I go back and paint them with a meringue powder and water mix, immediately sprinkling them with edible glitter for that extra "Bling". For the faces, I found a mold in which I pour white chocolate, let it set in the freezer for a few minutes, then decorate with Royal icing. Since the heads are not molded on sticks, I have to cut an oval shape smaller than the head with the feathers out of cookie dough, bake with the stick inserted, decorate, then attach the head with Royal icing afterwards. The "beads" are fruit flavored Decors from Cake Mate.
