Pirate Hat Cake

This cake was made by using a round cake and cutting it in half.  Stand up next to each other with round side up and frosting or filling in-between the two layers.  Then using a piece of paper draw the hat.  Lay the paper up against the cake and use a knife to cut out indentations like the picture below.  Frost the cake and decorate.  Use fondant to create the skull and crossbones.
