Applying an Edible Cake Art Image

Posted

The 'edibles' are an easy, time-saving way to create a fancy decorated cake... These are Edible Image® decorations.

Simple and easy to use, comes with "photo" instructions... Just peel off the paper backing and lay the sugar art on top of your freshly frosted cake, then gently smooth with your finger tips. After approximately 15 to 20 minutes, the sugar art blends in with the frosting and gives it an almost air-brushed look.

The Edible Image is a flat pre-printed edible food decoration. The patented process in which Edible Images are created gives a color intensity and quality that the manufacturer
says cannot be matched. The vivid images become soft, blending the the frosting and cutting easily.

Application for ICE CREAM CAKES:
If iced with non-dairy whipped topping, DO NOT add any additional Water or Water spray to apply the image. If applying directly to ice cream, it is best to allow the ice cream to "sweat" a bit before applying the image. Or mist the ice cream with milk before applying the image. If you are working with soft-serve ice cream you will achieve better results by applying the Edible Image while the ice cream is soft, them freeze hard. If the edible image "bubbles" during freezing, gently pat or tap (DO NOT RUB) the image down with clean, dry hands.

Shelf Life: Image is packaged in what appears to be a grocery store Ziplock bag, but it is made of mylar. Do not refrigerate or put in freezer. Keep away from sunlight and direct light and at normal room temperatures -- placing flat in a cupboard or drawer is great. Under these conditions, the edible cake art image will last six months to one year.

This is a moisture sensitive product made of completely edible ingredients. When placed on food, it absorbs moisture and becomes soft, blending with the food.

CAUTION: Do not remove the edible cake art image from its plastic bag until the cake is frosted and ready for the decoration. Air dries the edible cake art and makes it brittle and cracked!

PACKAGING
Our packaging is different to safely protected the product
* Ziplock (mylar-type) see-through bag sealed tight * Instruction papers are on the "outside" of the ziplock bag (doesn't contaminate the edible image)
* The ziplock is then placed inside a heavy cardboard envelope container and sealed
* Keeping the Ziplock inside the cardboard container prevents cracking, fading, bending, etc.
* The above packaging and labor requires higher pricing

Freshness -- we receive orders weekly from the cake decorating manufacturers, which ensures that our products are fresh, not stale.

Cleanliness -- we purchase in bulk; the re-packaging is done in a sterile environment (Sugar Room) to ensure we protect the images from contamination.

On Our Shelf -- we do not keep images longer than the shelf life which means we are not selling an expired cake art image that the customer might keep for another couple of months, only to find out it is non-usable.
